Roadworks Signs

The emphasis in the second sign is the punctuation, on the first sign the error is blatant.

Lights! Media! Action!

Several Caribbean islands are picking up the pace to be ready for Cricket World Cup 2007. St Lucia is no exception. Quite a bit has been done to ensure the general upkeep of the Beausejour Cricket Grounds. Recently a project saw the installation of lights and tonight the lights were cermonially turned on. In addition there was afriendly match between the Media team and the World Cup 11. Well let's just say the media needs to put their talk into action. They had a huge total to chase and at the point that I left because of a slight drizzle, they had 6 overs to go and they needed in excess of 60 runs.
Well the lights are in place and we can have day/night matches now. Have we thought of having a covered pitch yet? That would crown it!! Away with 'rain no play'!!

Signs

Often in strange lands we depend on road signs for guidance. I had the opportunity to see this one on my way home from a concert! While I am tempted to say only in the Caribbean, I won't yield to temptation!

Tranquility

In all the hustle and bustle, it is nice to enjoy the tranquility of sleepy little towns and villages that afford you the opportunity to rejuvenate and get back in touch with nature...even if it is for a fleeting moment.

I had the occasion to visit Laborie, Choiseul, Soufriere, Anse La Raye and Dennery in St Lucia and I must say the breathtaking views have renewed my love for living on an island!

Things We Take For Granted

Many times we take things for granted and I think we are blessed living in this part of the world. Yes we have our problems, unemployment, crime, where doesn't but the freedom to associate and freedome of speech and freedom of worship is not a universal ideal!

The beaches and the air we take for granted others travel miles and days to get a sample of.

So I started this blog to mention the good and bad of living in the islands.
